Certificates are designed as occupational programs which incorporate a great deal of intensive information about one subject. The concentration of the program allows Certificates to be achieved in an amount of time usually less than one year and sometime in just a few months. The subject you choose to study for your Certificate can then help you to get an entry level position in that specified field. Certificates are not to be confused with academic degrees, however. Certificates are instead an acknowledgement of expert training to complete one type of work. Certificates are most commonly technical in nature, such as auto engineering or computer programs, but can be found for a variety of subject areas. Certificates are usually offered at local technical and junior colleges.
